1500Sqft House Plinth Beam Cost in 2025 – Materials + Labor – Quick Method

1500Sqft House Plinth Beam Cost in 2025

Introduction

A plinth beam, also known as a tie beam or grade beam, is a reinforced concrete beam that is constructed at or just above ground level in a building’s foundation. It runs along the perimeter of the structure and serves several important purposes:

  • Load distribution.

  • Preventing soil movement.

  • Protecting the structure.

  • Acts as a tie between columns.

  • Preventing termite infestation.

  • Minimizing damage during earthquakes.

The size and reinforcement of the plinth beam depend on the load it needs to carry, the type of soil, and the building’s design. Proper construction and reinforcement of plinth beams are essential to ensure the stability and longevity of the building. A 1500sqft House Plinth Beam Cost about Rs.1,44,452/- in 2025.

The cost of materials for the plinth beam, including reinforcement steel bars, cement, sand, and aggregate.

2). Labor Costs – The cost of hiring skilled labor to construct the plinth beam. This can vary depending on the local labor rates and the complexity of the design.

Calculation of 1500sqft House Plinth Beam Cost

For the calculation of the cost of a 1500 sq ft house plinth beam, first, we find the total volume of the plinth beam.

1500Sqft House Plinth Beam Cost

In the figure, we take a 1500 sq ft plinth area that contains six rooms, and each room is 12 ft. × 12 ft. in size. The cross-section area of plinth beams is 1 ft × 1 ft.

Calculation of volume

Suppose,

1500Sqft House Plinth Beam Cost

Planning Area – 50 × 30 = 1500 sq ft.

Plinth Beam Size – 12” x 12”

Plinth Beam Area – 1′ x 1′ = 1sqft.

The total Beam length = (3 × 50′ + 4 × 27′) = 258Feet.

L =  258 Rft

B = 1 ft

D = 1 ft

The total volume of concrete required will be (V) = L × B × D

= 258 × 1 × 1 = 258 Cft.

Dry vol. of concrete = 258 × 1.54 = 397.32 Cft.

Converting in cum

We know 1 cum = 35.3147 Cft.

398 Cft = 11.24 cum.

1). Calculation of Material Cost

For the calculation of the material cost of a 1500 sq ft house plinth beam, we need the analysis of quantity and rate of each material required like – cement, sand, aggregate, steel, etc.

1500Sqft House Plinth Beam Cost

The density of concrete is 1440 kg. per cum.

Considering M 20 mix ratio 1: 1.5 :3 (cement: sand: aggregate)

(A) Cement Cost

Part of cement/sum of ratio × dry concrete volume × concrete density.

= 1/ 5.5 × 11.24 ×1440 = 2942 kg.

No. of bags = 2942/ 50 = 58.84 or 59bags.

Price of 1 Cement bag = Approx. Rs.400 to 420/-bags.(ACC/Ambuja/Ultratech Brands).

Total cost of cement = 59 x 420 = Rs.24,780/-

(B) Sand Cost

Part of sand/sum of ratio × dry vol. of concrete

                = 1.5/5.5 x 398 = 108. 54 Cft

The price of sand varies between Rs. 50 to Rs. 60 according to the location to location and availability of sand.

Here we take the maximum price of Rs. 60 per Cft.

Total cost of Sand = 108.54 x 60 = Rs.6512/-

(C) Aggregate Cost

Part of aggregate/sum of ratio × dry vol. of concrete.

                        = 3/ 5.5 × 398 = 217 cft.

The price of aggregate varies between Rs. 40 to 80 according to location and availability of aggregate.

Here we take an average rate of Rs. 60 per Cft.

The cost of aggregate   = 217 × 60 = Rs. 13,020

Total Cost of Concrete Material

1500Sqft House Plinth Beam Cost

Total Cost = 24780 + 6512 + 13020 = Rs.44,312/-

Per Cft Cost = 44312/258 = Rs.171/- Cft.

Per Cum Cost = 44312/7.30 = Rs.6070/-Cum.

(2)  Steel Quantity & Cost

Steel is required 1.75% of the total volume of concrete.

The rate of steel reinforcement in the market is about Rs. 70 per kg.

Here the volume of concrete = 258 Cft or 7.30Cum (after conversion in cum).

Steel Quantity = 7.30 x 1.75% = 0.12775 cum.

The density of Steel – 7850kg/cum.

The weight of steel reinforcement required.

Quantity of steel in kg – 0.12775 x 7850 = 1002kg.

So, Total Cost of Steel = 1002 x 65 = Rs.65,184/-

Total material cost equal to

Concrete cost + steel cost

Total Concrete material cost = Rs.44,312/-

Total Steel Reinforcement cost = Rs.65,184/-

Total Materials cost for plinth beam = 44312 + 65184 = Rs.1,09,496/-

2). Calculation of Shuttering Cost

Total Beam Length – 258 feet.

Shuttering required is 2 times more than the total length of the plinth beam.

Shuttering Qty – 516 feet.

Depth of Beam – 1 feet.

Area of Beam – (L x D) 516 x 1 = 516Sqft.

Shuttering rate varies from Rs. 15 to Rs. 20 per sq ft (Rates vary from city to city).

Here we consider the maximum shuttering rate = Rs. 20 per sqft.

Then shuttering cost = 516 × 20 = Rs. 10,320

3). Calculation of Labor Cost

(A) Steel labor cost

The steel labor rate is Rs. 6 to 8 per kg.

Total Steel Labor Cost = Steel qty x labor rate.

Total Steel Labor Cost = 1002 x 8 = Rs.8016/-

(B) Concrete pouting labor cost

The concrete pouring labor rate is Rs. 50 to 60 per Cft.

Concrete pouring labor cost = Quantity of concrete × labor rate.

Total Concrete Labor Cost = 258 x 60 = Rs.15,480/-

Total Labor Cost =Steel Labor Cost + Concrete Labor Cost.

Total Labor Cost = 8016 + 15480 = Rs.23496/-

2nd Method

Labor Cost is always 20 to 25% of materials cost.

Total materials cost = Rs.1,09,496/-

If we consider labor costs 22.5%

Labor cost = Rs.1,09,496 x 22.5% – Rs.24,636/-

Now, the total cost of a 1500 sq ft house plinth beam equal to

Material cost + shuttering + labor cost

= 109496 + 10,320 + 24636 = Rs.1,44,452/-

So, the total cost of a 1500 sq ft house plinth beam is about Rs.1,44,452/- in 2025.

Cost of plinth beam per sqft – Cost of plinth beam/ Area of beam.

= 144452/258 = Rs.560/-Sqft.
